When the S.S. American sets sail from New York to London, it’s smooth sailing for everyone except Billy Crocker, a young Wall Street broker who stows away to win the heart of debutante Hope Harcourt—who just happens to be engaged to the wealthy (but dim-witted) Lord Evelyn Oakleigh.
With the help of nightclub singer and evangelist-turned-showgirl Reno Sweeney and lovable gangster Moonface Martin, Billy sets out to win Hope’s heart before the ship docks. Cue mistaken identities, romantic mix-ups, and a deck-load of dazzling dance numbers!
