Ruth has been a member of BMTG since 1984 and has only missed performing in a couple of shows since then.
She started off singing in church and school choirs at the tender age of five and she has also been a member of the Nottingham Choral Trust performing at The Royal Concert Hall & The Albert Hall in Nottingham.
During the day she has two jobs; a secondary school library assistant and a classroom assistant, both very challenging but rewarding.
Two of her passions are Manchester United & very loud rock music - she gets to many gigs, including her son’s band Diyu (www.myspace.com/diuyband), where she is an unofficial member of the road crew driving him to gigs & rehearsals.
A member of the BMTG committee, Ruth looks after social events.
She is married to fellow BMTG member John Maddison and is mother to Andrew Maddison & Rachel Maddison.
