Anthea has been with BMTG since 1979.
Starting off with solos at a very early age - 4 years old - Anthea moved onto a dancing school between the ages of 6 and 9 to learn Tap, Modern, Ballet and Acrobatics.
Between 1955 and 1960 she was a member of the Youth Club Follies signing, dancing, acting and performing Choreography.
1956 to 1961 saw Anthea joining the Church Lane Methodist Operatic Society (in Pudsey, Yorkshire). Leading roles included "Sally" in Me and My Girl (1959) and support roles included Winnie in Tea for Two, The "island Girl" in Free as Air, and various performances in the dance team and chorus
Between 1971 and 1987 Anthea was in the Ogando school of dancing, responsible for costume design, head-dress production and make-up. And she managed to squeeze in some time to be a rhythmic fitness teacher as well.
Anthea's first performance with, the then named, Beeston Operatic Society was "the New Moon", in the chorus. As well as being principal and chorus member ever since, Anthea has also been active in choreography, make-up and as wardrobe mistress. Support roles include Carousel (1991), Bless the Bride (1983), My Fair Lady (1995), Me and My Girl (2002). Anthea was choreographer for The Boyfriend and Viva Mexico.
Favourites roles include Sally in Me and My Girl (1959), The Duchess in Me and My Girl (2002) and Suzanne in Bless the Bride (1983).
During the day Anthea is a teacher in Sugar craft, involved with adult further education and is a NCN cake designer. She is married to fellow member David Hinchliffe.
