Membership

There are two types of membership - acting and non-acting. Non-acting membership gives you all the advantages of acting membership but you simply don't perform on stage.

We have many types of member: some want to act, some sing, some build scenery, some manage props and costumes, etc - i.e. it's not just for those that get a kick out of being on stage.

A show cast

What do you get as a member?

  1. Access to auditions & rehearsals
  2. Invitation to social events
  3. A regular newsletter
  4. Ability to vote at the AGM

And all this for £90 a year (£45 for non-acting membership) - paid via monthly Standing Order instalments. There is even a half price student rate.

Interested?

If you're interested please contact our Patrons & Subscriptions secretary or simply turn up at rehearsals - we rehearse most Wednesdays at 7:45pm until 10:15pm at Round Hill Primary School in Beeston (Click on the Round Hill name for a map of how to get there).

Below, is a membership form that can be completed and sent to our Patrons & Subscriptions secretary (details are included on the form). This form simply takes some basic details about yourself and submission does not confirm any kind of membership.

Whichever way you contact us, if you become a member then you will need to abide by the groups constitution, which is available for download below.

The Joining Process

If you're applying to become an acting member you will be asked to audition (singing, acting and dancing) and membership will be granted based on the success of that. Additionally, acting members are only recruited when rehearsals start for a new show - this is usually around April and October of each year, so it may be worth contacting us before proceeding. Non-acting members are recruited any time of the year.

Once successful, you'll need to arrange payment of your subscription. The must be done via standing order - the form for this is below. If you're a tax payer then we can get additional money from the government (28 pence for every pound that you contribute) if you also complete the following Gift Aid form. Find out more information about Gift Aid.

Please also be aware that whilst most rehearsals are on Wednesdays, we may also rehearse on Mondays and, particularly during the final weeks before a show, Sundays.

Children

The Society only normally recruits children for shows when they are specifically needed. However, there is no reason why your child should not be nominated for future consideration.

We are serious about our responsibilities to children within our society and so have put together a Child Protection Policy. This document has to be read and signed by every member taking part in a show in which children are involved. A copy of this document is below, along with a special membership form for children.
